Members of Pennine Sailing Club (PSC) are using their OB
grant to its fullest extent by building their own Oppie
fleet – with a lot of help and advice from a
neighbouring sailing club, and the enthusiasm of adults
and children alike.
We are pleased to welcome Laser and RS, joining
Henri-Lloyd and Harken as official suppliers to OnBoard.
We look forward to working with them and receiving their
support in running the OnBoard Festivals later in the

Tom Herbert-Evans and Cai Lewis Roberts are the new
OnBoard Development Officers for Wales – and both
welcomed RYA chief executive Rod Carr to their launch
events recently.
Cheshire & Merseyside and the Isle of Wight now have
OnBoard Development Officers. Luke Shaw, a former
solicitor, and Susie Moore, who’s been sailing since she
was two weeks old, joined the OB team towards the end of
last year.
Nineteen brave and hardy young sailors turned up on a
very cold and snowy November Sunday to take part in an
on-water training session with Peter Aitken, UK National
Mirror Squad Coach, and then participate in Sutton
Bingham Sailing Club’s afternoon racing.
Robbie Bell has taken over as RYA Regional Development
Officer in the Eastern region, based in West Norfolk.
This year’s Dinghy Show is set to be another fun packed,
all action affair, with plenty for OnBoard kids of all
sailing abilities and ages to learn and do.
